Michael is one of the seven archangels and is among the three whose names appear in the Bible: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. The breastplate is humility, in which the fiery darts of hell and evil are extinguished; the double-edged sword is the word of God, which confounds the lie and dispels the doubts and ego, which Lucifer’s pride uses to try to imitate God, confuse and lose souls.
